1. Exposición World Press Photo 2016
World Press Photo Exhibition 2016 is in Lanzarote, with a total of 155 photographs by 42 photographers of 21 nationalities. The exhibition will be at the Municipal Exhibition Hall of the Charco de San Gines from today until August 18.
In this exhibition the photographs awarded the most prestigious award of world photojournalism will be displayed. It has begun its tour of a hundred cities in 45 countries, with the expectation that more than 3.5 million people will visit it.

4. Humor: IGNATIUS FARRAY. "La comedia salvó mi vida" (Comedy saved my life)
Comedy saved his life ... and can save yours. Nothing to do Friday night? Well if you want a plan to have a good laugh, youmight want to check the humor of Ignatius Farray and his show "Comedy saved my life", presented at the Teatro El Salinero at 9:00 pm tonight. Tickets are priced at 10 € and are still available online.
5. Popular Race Quíquere 2016
On Saturday July 30 the "popular Quiquere Race 2016" is held at 10:00 am. The race is from Varadero to Puerto del Carmen, with a distance of 5 and 10 km.
6. First Aid for Pets Workshop
The Sara Protectora Workshop on First Aid for Pets is back. They will teach how to save the life of an animal if it’s been in an accident (run over, been attacked by another dog, chocking, wounds, seizures, bleeding, broken bones…) and also how to do CPR or how to deal with a heat stroke. They will show the different diseases of pets and how to avoid them. There will be a theory part where they will teach about the most common diseases of both dogs and cats and then there will be a practical part on dogs.
The teachers of this workshop will be: Óscar Fondón, dog-assisted rescue and salvage instructor, alongside his adorable doggie: Cuba; and Diana Ródenas, the shelter’s vet. They are both at your disposal to answer all of your questions. Sara Protectora Shelter give “thanks to these two great professional for donating their time and knowledge so that we all can learn how to save lives”.
Also, this workshop is COMPLETELY FREE so that everybody in our island can have access to it and learn how to save a life!
The workshop is this Saturday at 7:00 pm in Arrecife, Casa de la Juventud.
7. 9º Festival Mar en Calma en Playa Honda
On 30 and 31 July the town of Playa Honda, specifically the Avenue at Calle Princesa Ico, will host the ninth consecutive year the Festival Mar en Calma, a musical and theatrical encounter that has become the summer festival of the municipality closing the month of July. There will be two days full of events for families; there will be workshops, storytelling, music, clowns, theater and concerts.
8. Exhibition: HILAR FINO Tías
From July 29 to August 7 the traditional dress of Lanzarote Exhibition "Hilar Fino" will be in Tias, at the Civic Center El Fondeadero in Puerto del Carmen. N"Hilar Fino", which includes ten pairs of mannequins with historical costumes of the island, is touring the seven municipalities of Lanzarote between the months of May and September.
Todo el vestuario que forma parte de Hilar fino ha sido reproducido a partir de un trabajo de indagación y búsqueda de vestimenta muy antigua que guardaban algunas familias en diferentes localidades de Lanzarote. Estas recreaciones de vestimenta histórica se han realizado con todo el rigor científico y el excelente trabajo de escogidos artesanos del telar y los tejidos.

"Fashion Designer for a Day" Workshop. Biosfera Plaza
The "Fashion Designer for a Day" Workshop is held this satuday July 30 at 7:00 pm at the Biosfera Plaza Mall. The design workshop is focused on the development of creativity. The maximum capacity is 30 people, registration is required (+34 629 818 455).
Animation with game and gifts. Deiland
On Saturday from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm There will be a childrens activity at Deiland Mall called "Animation with games and gifts ... "August is here".
