1. "La Patrulla Canina y la isla de los cocos"

This Friday, March 24th, "La Patrulla Canina y el isla de los cocos" will be presented at the Tías Municipal Theater, at 7:00 pm. The famous characters of the successful cartoon series return with the story of "The Patrol to the rescue".
Tickets for the new and original show conceived for the whole family are priced at € 14.

 

2. David Bustamante - "Amor de los Dos"

David Bustamante presents his "Amor de los dos" tour this Friday at 9:00 pm, at Marina Lanzarote. Tickets are priced at € 20.

3. Carnival in Playa Blanca, Yaiza 2017

The Playa Blanca Carnival festivities in Yaiza will be held on 24, 25 and 26 March. The allegory of the carnival is inspired by the marine world and you can see the whole program of the Carnival of Playa Blanca here:

Friday, March 24

7:30 pm. Carnival Opening with a parade with "batucada Villa Pipol" from the square of Ntra. Sra. Del Carmen crossing the principal avenue to the pier through the Limones street and ending in the square of Ntra. Sra. Del Carmen.

8:30 pm. Great Drag Queen Gala, with performances of the best Drag of the Canary Islands, performance of Ballet Dance Pop, presented by Techi Acosta, Dani Calero and Alejandro Bravo in the "Plaza de Ntra. Sra. Del Carmen".

Then "VERBENA DE CARNAVAL" with the orchestras El Combo Dominicano (Gran Canaria) and Bomba group with their Orchestra (Fuerteventura) at Nuestra Señora del Carmen Square.

Saturday, March 25

11:00 am. "Carnaval Canino" (Carnival for Dogs). Fun and prize for the most original costumes at Nuestra Señora del Carmen Square. Information and registration at: 679453803 Organized by: Animal Protection Area of Yaiza Town Hall.

6:00 pm. "Gran Coso de Carnaval", with the participation of groups, floats and mascaritas.

Then "VERBENA DE CARNAVAL" with the orchestras El Combo Dominicano (Gran Canaria) and Bomba group with their Orchestra (Fuerteventura) at Nuestra Señora del Carmen Square.

Sunday, March 26

10:00 am. "Carnaval Infantil" (Children's Carnival) with the performance of children's murgas, surprises and children's show by the Creciendo Yaiza Association at Nuestra Señora del Carmen Square.

1:30 pm. "Carnaval de Día" (Day Carnival) with the orchestras El Combo Dominicano (Gran Canaria), Bomba group with their Orchestra (Fuerteventura) and singer Tinnt Tn Tun (Puerto Rico) at Nuestra Señora del Carmen Square.

4. Carnival in La Graciosa 2017 

The island of La Graciosa celebrates the carnival this weekend with an ample number of activities. Look at the program here:

Friday, March 24

6:00 pm. Parade from El Sordo to the pier esplanade. Election of the children's queen, pet costume contest, snack for all, performance by Juanito Panchín.

11:00 pm. Verbena with "Sintonía Show" and Dj Ángel Pérez.

Saturday, March 25

11:00 am Charanga.

12:00 pm. Performances by children and adult murgas.

6:00 pm. "Coso del Carnaval", Performance by Dj Furre.

9:00 pm. Concert: INERXIA.

11:00 pm. "Verbena" with Sintonía Show and Dj Furre.

Sunday, March 26

6:00 pm. "Entierro de la Sardina" (Burial of the Sardine) at the pier.

5. Festival Animayo Lanzarote 2017

The sixth edition of the "Festival Animayo Lanzarot"e will be in the halls of the Civic Center of Arrecife until Saturday 25th March, which are again impregnated with talent, audiovisual culture and training about animation and movies.

6. Aqua Circus Arrecife 2017 Circo Alegría

There will be more shows of Circo Alegría in Arrecife with "Aqua Circus", at the Great Tent of the Fairgrounds.

The spectators will find a swimming pool, with 24.000 liters of water, turned into circus track. Here, more than 40 artists will work doing their numbers with great risk and complication in order to surprise the visitors.

7. X SCultural Week of Theater of San Bartolomé

The "X Cultural Week of Theater of San Bartolomé" is celebrated from this Saturday 25 until next April 2nd, in the Municipal Theater of San Bartolomé. This weekend you can enjoy two great works: "Bar Manolo" and "La Casa de las Locas".

  • Saturday, March 25, at 9:00 pm, play "BAR MANOLO", by group "Raíces del Pueblo". Free entrance. Limited capacity.
  • Sunday, March 26, at 9:00 pm, play "LA CASA DE LAS LOCAS", by group "Teatreros y Comediantes". Free entrance. Limited capacity.

8. Holi 2017

 

Holi is one of the most relevant festivals of the Hindu calendar characterized by its festive atmosphere.

This Festival leaves aside the differences of class, race or origin (we all become "colors") and it becomes a joyful and unconcerned celebration.

This colorful party will be on Sunday March 26 from 12:00 to 8:00 pm at Plaza de las Naciones (Los Pocillos Beach) in Puerto del Carmen.

9. Ludoteca + taller de Títeres. Deiland

Deiland Shoppping Center offers a Ludoteca (playground) + taller de Títeres (Puppet workshop) to celebrate the World Theater Day on Sunday, March 26 at 11:30 am. Kids will have a great time.

 

10. Tri122 Lanzarote International Triathlon

This Saturday triathlon lovers will face a new challenge "Tri122 Lanzarote International Triathlon" on the Playa de las Cucharas, in Costa Teguise. The long distance start signal will be at 7:20 am, while the short distance exit will be at 8:20 am.

11. Music in Teguise

This Friday March 24 you can enjoy the third concert of Primavera Musical Yaiza 2017, at 8:00 pm, at the Convent of Santo Domingo, Teguise.

On Saturday, March 25, you can attend "Los Gofiones" Concert at the Convento de Santo Domingo at 9:00 pm. Tickets are on sale in the Department of Culture and Festivities, as in the Tourist Offices of the Villa and Costa Teguise, for a price of € 10.

And remember, this Saturday the "Hour of the Planet" is celebrated and the Castle of Santa Barbara and the tower of the Church of Teguise will be turned off against climate change, world-wide initiative "Earth Hour" with a symbolic blackout between the 8:30 and 9:30 pm.

Don't forget to change the clocks Forward, as the time will change this weekend. When local standard time is about to reach 1:00 am on Sunday, March 26th, clocks are turned forward 1 hour to 2:00 am.
