One of the places they go is Puerto del Carmen, with great golden sand and crystal clear waters. Love Padlocks in Puerto del Carmen are a sample of the love that take over the island. The tradition is to put the love padlocks on bridges crossing rivers, but of course, in Lanzarote there’s no river, so the perfect place is next to the sea. Where this idea came from?

Surely you've seen this “love locks” and probably even ask yourself if you’d ever leave any. But where this tradition of locks came from? It is well known the love story behind the work of the Italian writer Federico Moccia: "Tengo ganas de tí". In this novel the characters swear eternal love to each other and go to the Milvio Bridge and put a padlock with their names and attach it to the post of the bridge and then they throw the key into the river. Apparently, this is the story preferred by the followers of these pacts of love. However, according to the skeptics, a locksmith was the one who started this tradition, he just wanted to advertise his shop, which was next to the "Ponte Vecchio". Candados del amor corazón holala

Endless Love!

Grooms and honeymooners from different places love the idea of sealing their love this way, so famous in cities like Paris and Rome, cities that had to replace the railings of bridges and lamp posts that did not support the tons of metal of these "pacts of love". We like the gesture, as long as it doesn’t destroy anything of our island. Now, it seems, every time you travel you can find somewhere with these small locks. Because it is not the same to place it at the famous bridge of Rome or the city of love, it should now be in a difficult place to find so it stays closed and make love last.   Candados-del-Amor-en-Puerto-del-Carmen
